South Korea’s New FSC Chair Dismisses Cryptocurrency Value

Lee Eok-won, the nominee for chairman of South Korea’s Financial Services Commission (FSC), has publicly questioned the intrinsic value of cryptocurrency. In a statement to lawmakers ahead of his confirmation hearing, he stated that cryptocurrencies lack any inherent value and are prone to extreme price volatility.
