South Korea’s Exports Rise Despite Washington Tariffs

Despite challenges posed by US tariffs, South Korea’s exports have shown resilience in August. Strong demand for semiconductors and automobiles has contributed to continued trade growth. According to customs data, South Korean exports rose 1.3% compared to the previous year in August, a slight moderation from July’s surge of 5.8%. Meanwhile, imports declined by 4%, resulting in a $6.5 billion surplus. However, economists are watching for potential disruptions as tariffs take effect and front-loaded deliveries subside.
