Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao drew parallels to Bitcoin’s early days, emphasizing the limited liquidity and wild price volatility that characterized the cryptocurrency landscape during its initial stages. He pointed out that back when BTC traded between $1 and $100, daily swings of up to 60% were commonplace. Even with the recent prominence in media headlines, mainstream crypto adoption remains limited today. Only a small fraction of individuals own digital assets, accounting for less than 1% of their overall portfolios. Zhao believes that widespread adoption won’t happen overnight and stresses the need for gradual growth through building liquidity and a user base before expanding outwards. He emphasizes that strategic investment decisions are crucial for long-term success.
