El Salvador Shielded Its $680M Bitcoin Reserve from Quantum Threats

To safeguard its significant Bitcoin holdings, El Salvador has strategically divided its reserves into 14 distinct wallets. This move aims to mitigate the potential impact of quantum computing risks and enhance transparency. The country now holds approximately 6,284 BTC worth $680 million, distributed across these newly established addresses. Each wallet is capped at 500 BTC, creating a multi-layered structure designed to minimize exposure to emerging threats.
