CFTC Opens Non-US Crypto Trading for Americans

The Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) has opened the door for American retail investors to trade cryptocurrencies on foreign platforms, a move that promises increased market access and liquidity. This initiative, which launched in October 2023, allows Americans to trade spot crypto assets through regulated pathways using the FBOT framework. The CFTC’s focus on expanding market access is expected to boost trading volumes for major cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH), while also increasing cross-border liquidity within the digital asset space.
