U.S. GDP Data Goes Blockchain: A First for Federal Agencies

The U.S. Department of Commerce (DOC) has taken a significant step towards revolutionizing data accessibility by publishing real gross domestic product (GDP) data on the blockchain. This marks the first time federal economic data will be openly made available in this innovative format, combining transparency, security, and advanced technology. The DOC’s July 2025 GDP data is now accessible on nine popular blockchains: Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, TRON, Stellar, Avalanche, Arbitrum One, Polygon PoS, and Optimism. Coinbase, Gemini, and Kraken helped facilitate the release of this crucial data. Moving forward, the DOC aims to expand its blockchain initiative, including GDP and other critical datasets. )
