The US government has partnered with blockchain oracle providers, Chainlink and Pyth, to make economic data readily accessible on the blockchain. The Department of Commerce awarded Pyth the responsibility of publishing GDP data—the total annual economic output—in an official announcement released on Thursday. Additionally, Chainlink was selected by the Commerce Department to provide data feeds from the Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA). These feeds will include real gross domestic product (GDP), personal consumption expenditures (PCE) price index, and real final sales to private domestic purchasers. This move represents a shift towards increased transparency in government spending under the Trump administration’s initiative to enhance accountability.
