South Korean Police Arrest Suspects in $4.3 Million Cryptocurrency Investment Scam

The Gyeonggi Southern Police Agency’s Anti-Corruption and Economic Crime Investigation Unit has successfully apprehended three suspects in a major cryptocurrency investment scam that targeted over 129 victims in South Korea. The alleged fraudsters used a worthless cryptocurrency token called ‘GCV (Golf Cart Victoria)’ to lure investors into believing they would receive exclusive golf membership privileges in Asia, ultimately defrauding them of approximately 5.7 billion Korean Won, equivalent to around $4.3 million USD. After an extensive year-long investigation, authorities secured the suspects and gathered key evidence. They are now dedicated to tracing the illicit funds to assist victims in recovering their losses.
