Circle and Finastra Integrate USDC into Global Payment Systems

Finastra has partnered with Circle to integrate USDC settlement into its Global PAYplus (GPP) system, streamlining international cross-border payments. This collaboration enhances speed, efficiency, and compliance for banks while offering a faster and more cost-effective alternative to traditional correspondent banking systems. GPP, one of the largest payment platforms processing over $5 trillion in transactions daily, is now equipped to utilize USDC as a settlement instrument despite transaction instructions written in fiat currency. This provides financial institutions with an added advantage, enabling them to make cross-border payments efficiently without needing to build new infrastructure. 1 The integration removes the need for banks to create their own infrastructure, making it quicker and easier for financial institutions to adopt this technology.
