US Imposes 50% Tariff on Indian Goods, Escalating Trade Tensions

The U.S. has imposed a new 50% tariff on all goods originating from India, effective August 27th. This escalation follows India’s continued purchase of discounted Russian oil, as the Trump administration seeks to pressure Russia into peace talks regarding the Ukraine conflict.
