CertiK Warns of ‘Endless’ Crypto Hacking as $2.5 Billion Stolen in H1 2025

Blockchain security firm CertiK has declared a ‘war’ against hackers after revealing nearly $2.5 billion worth of digital asset theft in the first half of 2025. Ronghui Gu, professor of computer science at Columbia University and co-founder of CertiK, emphasizes that crypto companies are facing an asymmetric conflict with cybercriminals. He points out that attackers can exploit even a single vulnerability for significant damage while defenders need to secure vast networks of code across decentralized protocols.
