On August 27th, Bitcoin’s trading activity saw a notable jump in South Korea, with an impressive Kimchi Premium of 0.94%. The cryptocurrency was trading at 155.32 million KRW on Upbit exchange at the time, down by 0.37% from the previous day. This price movement led to a gap of approximately 1.46 million KRW on Binance where Bitcoin was priced at 153.86 million KRW. Notably, Ethereum (ETH), the leading altcoin, also experienced a Kimchi Premium of 0.87%. Other major altcoins recorded significant premiums as well: Solana (SOL) with a premium of 0.90%, XRP (XRP) at 0.88%, Dogecoin (DOGE) at 0.80%, and Shiba Inu (SHIB) at 0.65%. Most top altcoins currently trade with a noticeable premium between 0.6% to 0.9%.
