Ripple’s RLUSD Stablecoin Launches in Japan with SBI in 2026

Ripple’s RLUSD stablecoin is set to launch in Japan in early 2026, leveraging the expertise of SBI VC Trade for distribution. This launch aims to expand the range of available stablecoins in Japan and boost confidence in digital payments, according to SBI VC Trade CEO Tomohiko Kondo. The stablecoin is backed by 1:1 cash reserves, U.S. Treasury bills, and other dollar-equivalent assets launched in December 2024. Currently, it holds a market cap of around $666 million with daily volumes exceeding $71 million according to CoinGecko.
