House Includes CBDC Ban in Defense Policy Bill

The U.S. House of Representatives has added a provision prohibiting the Federal Reserve from issuing a central bank digital currency (CBDC) to its defense policy bill, which outlines funding for the military for fiscal year 2026. This action was taken after a revision of the National Defense Authorization Act by the House Rules Committee included the ban on CBDC study or creation.
