DOJ Ends Blanket Prosecution of DeFi Developers

The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) is shifting its approach to prosecuting developers in the decentralized finance (DeFi) space. Effective immediately, the DOJ will require proof of criminal intent for liability in DeFi cases, according to Acting Assistant Attorney General Matthew R. Galeotti. This change marks a significant step towards fostering confidence in the Ethereum ecosystem and promoting further innovation in decentralized finance.
