Thailand Launches Program to Convert Crypto into Thai Baht for Tourists

Thailand has launched a new program called TouristDigiPay, allowing foreign tourists to convert their cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH) directly into Thai baht. This program aims to boost declining tourism by simplifying transactions for travelers and attracting tech-savvy visitors. The initiative is supported by key government bodies including the Ministry of Finance, the Securities and Exchange Commission, and the Bank of Thailand. It will enable tourists to spend their crypto on goods and services at merchants nationwide via QR code payments and regulated e-money providers.
