Thailand Introduces Crypto-to-Baht System to Boost Tourism Amid Slump

To combat the decline in tourism, Thailand will launch a new system on August 18th, allowing foreign visitors to convert their cryptocurrencies into Thai Baht. Dubbed “TouristDigiPay”, this initiative provides an electronic platform for converting digital assets to the local currency through regulated payment channels. Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Pichai Chunhavajira will officially unveil the program at a press conference alongside key officials from the Ministry of Finance, SEC, Anti-Money Laundering Office, and the Ministry of Tourism and Sports.
