EU and US Trade Talks Hit Snag Over Digital Rules & Market Access

The EU and US are facing difficulties finalizing a trade deal due to disagreements over digital regulations and market access. Negotiators on the joint statement aimed at formalizing the agreement, originally announced in July, remain at odds over wording related to “non-tariff barriers,” which the US wants to limit, while the EU maintains that these barriers must be addressed as part of the original deal.
