SEC Extends Deadline for Solana ETFs, Signaling Potential Approval in October

The US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has set a new deadline of October 16, 2025, for its decision on five spot Solana ETF applications. This delay follows initial SEC acceptance of the applications in February, extending the review period to allow for thorough examination of proposed rule changes. The final decision is expected after a detailed review process that included the submission of amended S-1 forms by participating companies. 5 prominent ETFs are currently awaiting approval: Bitwise Solana ETF, 21Shares Core Solana ETF, VanEck Solana Trust, Grayscale Solana Trust, and Canary Solana Trust. Analysts anticipate swift approvals with several funds already demonstrating success in their launch strategies. Notably, REX Shares and Osprey Funds have successfully launched spot Solana ETFs using alternative listing mechanisms, potentially setting the stage for a swift SEC decision.
