Google Play Crypto Wallet Crackdown Impacts 15 Global Jurisdictions

Google Play’s crypto wallet crackdown is set to dramatically alter the digital asset landscape. The new rules, effective October 29, 2025, require both custodial and non-custodial wallets to obtain licensing in at least 15 countries. These jurisdictions include the United States and the European Union, among others, as part of a broader effort by Google to ensure compliance with financial regulations.
