Embargo Ransomware Group Secures $34 Million in Crypto Payments Since April

The Embargo ransomware group has emerged as a prominent player in the cybercriminal underworld, amassing over $34 million in cryptocurrency ransom payments since April 2024. Operating under a RaaS (ransomware-as-a-service) model, Embargo has targeted critical infrastructure across the United States, including hospitals and pharmaceutical networks. According to blockchain intelligence firm TRM Labs, victims have included American Associated Pharmacies, Memorial Hospital in Georgia, and Weiser Memorial Hospital in Idaho.
