Bitcoin Trades at 1.34% Kimchi Premium in South Korea on June 16

On June 16, Bitcoin trading on South Korea’s Upbit exchange saw a 1.34% premium, known as the ‘Kimchi Premium’. At 12:00 AM KST, BTC was trading at 146.4 million KRW, representing a slight decrease of 0.01% compared to the previous day. Meanwhile, on Binance, Bitcoin’s price stood at 144.46 million KRW, leading to a price gap of 1.94 million KRW and reflecting a Kimchi Premium of 1.34%. Ethereum (ETH), the dominant altcoin, also experienced a 1.32% premium. Other significant altcoins showed notable premiums as well: Solana (SOL) at 1.23%, Ripple (XRP) at 1.33%, Dogecoin (DOGE) at 1.22%, and Shiba Inu (SHIB) at 1.44%. Currently, most top altcoins are trading with a premium ranging between 1.2% and 1.4%.
