Roman Storm, co-founder of Tornado Cash, faces significant hurdles leading up to his trial on July 14th. The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) is hindering his ability to present a strong defense by rejecting numerous expert witnesses. The DOJ has dismissed five of six proposed experts and restricted the selection and methods of one further, claiming their testimonies regarding digital privacy, blockchain technology, tokenomics, and KYC rules are irrelevant to the case. Storm’s legal team is requesting an extension to respond to this rejection. Meanwhile, support for Storm is growing within the crypto community and Ethereum Foundation has pledged financial aid, as he seeks a fair trial despite being under pressure from the DOJ.
