Ripple and SEC Reach Settlement in XRP Case After Four Years

After four years of litigation, Ripple and the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) have reached a resolution to end their case. The joint motion aims to avoid further appeals and expedite the proceedings. In the filing, both parties acknowledged that settlement offers time-saving advantages and prevents prolonging the legal battle. Funds previously held in escrow were released by Ripple, with $50 million going towards the SEC’s penalty payment and another $75 million returned to Ripple.
