Amazon Powers Its AI with Nuclear Energy: New Deal to Fuel Data Centers

Tech giant Amazon has signed a significant agreement with Talen Energy, an established power infrastructure provider, to access 1,920 megawatts of nuclear energy. This will fuel the company’s massive data centers and Artificial Intelligence (AI) initiatives in Pennsylvania for the next two decades. The energy will be drawn from Talen’s Susquehanna nuclear plant, delivering power directly to Amazon facilities. This arrangement, which avoids direct transmission from the nuclear facility, ensures grid stability through service fees paid by Amazon.
