Gotbit CEO Jailed for Crypto Market Manipulation: Eight-Month Sentence

Aleksei Andriunin, the founder and CEO of Gotbit, has been sentenced to eight months in prison for manipulating the cryptocurrency market through illegal wash trading practices. The U.S. District Court in Massachusetts issued the sentence on June 13th, adding one year of supervised release. As a result, Gotbit, Andriunin’s company, will be under probation for five years and must cease all operations.
