Ukraine Submits Proposal to Include Virtual Assets in National Bank Reserves

Ukraine has officially filed a draft law seeking to modify the nation’s National Bank of Ukraine legislation, granting it authority to incorporate virtual assets into its gold and foreign exchange reserves. While the full document is yet to be published, details have been revealed by Yaroslav Zheleznyak, a deputy from the Holos faction and chairman of the Verkhovna Rada’s Finance Committee, who confirmed the proposal’s registration. He further explained that the draft law empowers the National Bank with the flexibility to determine the inclusion of virtual assets in reserves based on market conditions and strategic needs. This approach allows for adaptability without a pre-defined mandate.
