Ripple Unveils Grant Program for Japan’s Web3 Startups on the XRP Ledger

Ripple has announced a new grant program designed to fuel growth of Japan’s thriving Web3 ecosystem, specifically targeting projects built on its secure and scalable XRP Ledger. The initiative is a collaboration with Web3 Salon, a networking platform backed by Asia Web3 Alliance Japan and supported by the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO), offering early-stage ventures a valuable boost.

Through this program, Ripple will provide grants of up to $200,000 per selected project over the next year. This funding supports startups developing solutions in DeFi, tokenization, and digital payments, aligning with Ripple’s broader Japan and Korea Fund aimed at driving blockchain adoption in the region.

Ripple’s selection process will assess technical merit, growth potential, and alignment with strategic goals.

Web3 Salon will play a crucial role by facilitating networking opportunities, workshops, and advisory sessions to support startups navigate Japan’s regulatory landscape. This partnership also hosts four community events between March 2026 and the end of the year, featuring startup pitches, investor meetings, panel discussions, and educational workshops on cross-border expansion and compliance.

Japan has emerged as a key market for blockchain innovation due to clear crypto regulations and a strong tech talent pool. This initiative aims to address the challenges faced by local startups in scaling and accessing resources, fostering a supportive environment for Web3 entrepreneurs.

Beyond Japan, Ripple’s commitment to accelerating Web3 adoption extends globally with its recent expansion in the UAE where it partnered with Zand Bank and fintech firm Mamo on its cross-border payments platform. This strategic move further reinforces Ripple’s presence across the Middle East.
