Paraguay President’s X Account Hacked, Spreading Fake Bitcoin News

The Paraguayan government issued a warning on Monday, June 9th, asking citizens to disregard any recent posts shared from President Santiago Peña’s official X account. The post claimed that Paraguay had officially adopted Bitcoin as legal tender, created a $5 million BTC reserve and granted access for crypto assets in its bond market. However, the government clarified that this claim is false and no such initiative is underway. Currently, legislators are focusing on regulating crypto mining and virtual asset exchanges to enhance tax revenue collection.
