Bitcoin Trades at 1.99% Kimchi Premium in South Korea

On June 8th, Bitcoin traded on Upbit exchange in South Korea at 146.27 million KRW, experiencing a 0.74% increase from the previous day. This puts it just shy of its global equivalent, which was priced at 143.42 million KRW on Binance. As such, Bitcoin enjoys a price gap of 2.85 million KRW, resulting in a 1.99% Kimchi Premium. 1.93% of ETH also enjoyed a premium that day. Other notable altcoins like Solana (SOL), Ripple (XRP), Dogecoin (DOGE), and Shiba Inu (SHIB) are showing similar premiums ranging from 1.8% to 1.9%. The most popular tokens in the South Korean market are currently trading with premiums around 1.8% to 1.9%.
