Romania Post Invests in Crypto: First Bitcoin ATM Goes Live

Romania’s national postal service, Poșta Română, has taken a significant step into the world of cryptocurrencies by installing its first Bitcoin ATM at a branch location in Tulcea. This innovative move comes as part of a larger initiative to modernize existing infrastructure and integrate digital technologies. The ATM allows users to deposit cash directly to fund accounts on the Bitcoin Romania platform. The project serves as a pilot for expansion, with plans to install four additional ATMs in Alexandria, Piatra Neamț, Botoșani, and Nădlac. Poșta Română’s commitment to digital innovation reflects their dedication to bringing accessible services to even the most remote communities within Romania. This deployment follows the company’s pioneering issuance of the first official NFT in 2022, showcasing a long-standing engagement with digital assets.
