The Rise and Fall of MyKab: A Story of Driver Empowerment and App Disagreements

MyKab, a driver-backed e-hailing app designed to address inequalities within the industry, entered the Nigerian market in 2020. The platform, backed by the Professional E-hailing Drivers and Private-Owners Association (PEDPA), aimed to empower drivers while offering car leasing and hire purchase services. However, MyKab’s ambitious plan met early setbacks, ultimately leading to its demise.
