Consensys Acquires Major Ethereum Investment, Experts Suspect Whale Purchase

Crypto analytics platform Arkham Intelligence has raised eyebrows by suggesting that Consensys, a prominent developer company in the Ethereum ecosystem, may have acquired a significant amount of Ethereum (ETH). Their analysis highlights a large-scale transaction involving Galaxy Digital, which reportedly sent $320 million worth of ETH to a newly established wallet address, 0x0b2. This transfer saw approximately $120 million in ETH staked via Liquid Collective. Consensys CEO Joe Lubin’s comments further bolster the speculation, as he revealed his company is actively in discussions with institutions interested in building on Ethereum infrastructure, including large sovereign wealth funds and banks within a specific country. Lubin’s analysis of the global financial system reveals significant concerns regarding its structural fatigue and impending collapse, contributing to the increased interest from these institutions in exploring Ethereum’s layer-1 and layer-2 solutions.
