XRP Ledger Activity Slows Down as Bitcoin Rises

Recent data reveals a slowdown in activity on the XRP Ledger. Transaction volume has fallen to its lowest point since October, with payment transactions hitting 320,747, considerably below the average of over a million from March to early May. Active addresses have also decreased, falling below 10,000 – the lowest since last October. Additionally, XRP destroyed as transaction fees has fallen to 1,500, aligning with a decrease in new account creation. Despite a strong first quarter performance where payment transactions increased by 36% and active addresses grew by 142%, this slowdown follows a period of increased activity. However, a recent Messari report remains optimistic about the XRP Ledger’s future, citing rising institutional adoption thanks to strategic partnerships and acquisitions.
