Meta Shareholders Reject Proposal to Include Bitcoin on Balance Sheet

Shareholders of Meta, led by CEO Mark Zuckerberg, have rejected a proposal that would have included Bitcoin in the company’s balance sheet. This rejection came after an overwhelming vote against the proposal, with 4.9 billion votes cast against it and only 3.92 million in support. The proposal was put forward by Ethan Peck, representing the National Center for Public Policy Research (NCPPR), who suggested that Meta utilize a portion of its $72 billion cash reserves to hold Bitcoin as a long-term investment, citing its fixed supply and historical performance compared to traditional assets.
