AUATON Demands Bolt Reinstate Suspended Driver in Port Harcourt Assault Case

The Amalgamated Union of the App-based Transporters of Nigeria (AUATON) has demanded that ride-sharing platform Bolt reinstate a driver, Wugah Kue Prince, suspended following an assault on a passenger in Port Harcourt. The incident allegedly took place on June 1st, with the driver demanding N4,500, significantly higher than the app’s stipulated fare of N3,100. This discrepancy led to a scuffle, resulting in injuries for the passenger. Bolt has suspended the driver pending further investigation while acknowledging the unacceptable behavior and offering support to the affected passenger.
