U.S. Close to Finalizing a Few Trade Deals Before July 9th Deadline

Deputy Treasury Secretary Michael Faulkender revealed that the Trump administration is making progress on trade negotiations, nearing completion of several deals before the July 9th deadline. He anticipates announcements prior to this date, provided talks continue smoothly. Despite President Trump’s initial goal of closing 90 deals within 90 days, only one agreement has been finalized with Britain. The White House maintains its intention to complete as many negotiations as possible before the 90-day pause expires. Faulkender highlighted that while negotiations can be complex, they aim to reach agreements prior to the deadline and continue progress in light of positive trade partner responses.
