SEC Under Fire Over Crypto Staking Changes

The US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is facing mounting criticism for its evolving stance on crypto staking services. The SEC issued new guidance on May 29, claiming that certain offerings may not constitute securities, effectively exempting proof-of-stake blockchains from registration requirements under the Securities Act. However, this shift has drawn fire from both former and current SEC officials.
