Paradromics Implants First Brain-Computer Interface in Human Patient

A neurotech startup named Paradromics has made a significant breakthrough, implanting its brain-computer interface (BCI) device in a human patient for the first time. The procedure took place at the University of Michigan on May 14th during an epilepsy surgery and involved placing a chip smaller than a penny into the patient’s brain. Dr. Matthew Willsey, a neurosurgeon from the University of Michigan, performed the delicate implant using needles with a diameter resembling human hair to pick up electrical signals from individual neurons.
