Meta Shareholders Reject Bitcoin Proposal, Likely Mark Zuckerberg Too

Meta shareholders voted down a proposal to include Bitcoin on the company’s balance sheet. The vote, with over 5 billion opposed and just 3.92 million in support, was likely influenced by CEO Mark Zuckerberg’s considerable voting power (holding over 61%). Although proponents of Bitcoin for hedging against inflation had proposed a significant investment from Meta’s $72 billion cash reserves, Zuckerberg is reported to have voted against the proposal. Ethan Peck, who championed the proposal on behalf of BTC advocate and Strive director, stated that this rejection may signal a future adoption of Bitcoin by Meta.
