Thai SEC to Shut Down Five Crypto Exchanges by June 28

Thailand’s Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has announced a ban on five major cryptocurrency exchanges, effective June 28th, 2025. Bybit, OKX, CoinEx, 1000X, and XT.com face the shutdown due to alleged legal violations and concerns over anti-money laundering (AML) compliance. The SEC claims these exchanges have failed to meet local regulatory standards, potentially endangering investors and the financial system.
