India’s Central Bank Expands Digital Rupee Use, Targets Cross-Border Payments

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) is expanding its digital rupee pilot program to include new functionalities and cross-border payment use cases. The RBI plans to test the digital rupee in international transactions with partners from different countries. This development comes after successful pilot programs focusing on wholesale and retail applications.
