UK Regulator Seeks Public Input on Stablecoin and Crypto Custody Regulations

The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), the UK’s financial markets regulator, is inviting public input on its proposed regulations for stablecoins and crypto custody. The FCA released its press release on May 28th, as the UK prepares to finalize its regulatory framework for these assets. The regulator aims to gather feedback from various stakeholders before publishing final rules in 2026. 2025 has also seen the UK Treasury draft legislation related to stablecoins and crypto custody, with a public consultation period open until July 31st, 2025.
