Google Predicts Breakthrough in Cracking Crypto Wallets, Poses New Security Threat

A recent development from Google’s quantum team suggests that breaking into Bitcoin wallets could become significantly easier. This prediction hinges on the discovery that RSA encryption, currently used for securing cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, could be cracked using fewer quantum resources than initially anticipated. The researchers found a 20-fold reduction in qubits needed to break a 2048-bit RSA key, potentially enabling an efficient breach within weeks with limited computational power.
