A significant anonymous investor has made a substantial purchase in the cryptocurrency market, acquiring approximately $15 million worth of AAVE tokens through the algorithmic market maker Wintermute. This transaction comes as AAVE recently hit a new all-time high price. 15 million USDC was transferred to Wintermute first, followed by an acquisition of 57,715 AAVE tokens at an average purchase price of $259.9 per unit. The investor previously sold approximately 184.4 WBTC on the same day for around $20.4 million via Wintermute’s OTC service. Analysis reveals that this investor has been steadily accumulating AAVE since March 2023, spending a total of $30.8 million to acquire 224,010 AAVE tokens at an average purchase price of $137.5. This acquisition brings the investor’s unrealized profit to approximately $26.32 million, based on current market values. At press time, AAVE is trading for $265. The investor’s portfolio holds a total of $59.14 million in assets.
