Crypto Theft via Fake Ledger Live App On Rise

A growing cybersecurity threat targets macOS users, with hackers increasingly leveraging fake versions of the popular Ledger Live app to steal seed phrases and drain crypto wallets. A recent report from Moonlock reveals that cybercriminals have evolved their tactics, replacing legitimate Ledger Live apps with malicious clones after infecting a device. 2,800 hacked websites have been found to be carrying the Atomic macOS Stealer malware, designed specifically for stealing sensitive data. This software then creates a fake app and prompts victims to enter their seed phrase through a deceptive pop-up message, exposing their crypto assets within seconds.
