Coinbase Faces Security Concerns After Major Data Breach

Recent data breaches at cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase have raised significant concerns about user security. The company disclosed that personal information of 69,461 users was compromised, leading to potential fraud and identity theft incidents. This incident has prompted intense scrutiny over Coinbase’s response and transparency in addressing the breach. The investigation suggests a direct link to an external customer service group who illegally released sensitive user data acquired through Know Your Customer (KYC) processes. These details included names, contact numbers, social security numbers, and identities, which were reportedly exploited by scammers for fraudulent activities like compromising digital wallets.
