Shares of Indonesian fintech firm DigiAsia Corp soared by nearly 90% following the company’s announcement of a $100 million investment plan to acquire Bitcoin. The Nasdaq-listed company confirmed its intention to establish a Bitcoin treasury reserve, dedicating up to 50% of net profits toward Bitcoin purchases. DigiAsia plans to raise an additional US$100 million through a capital raise to fund this initial Bitcoin acquisition. The firm will also explore various strategies to earn yield on its Bitcoin holdings, including lending and staking activities. It is actively seeking partnerships with regulated entities for managing these holdings and assessing the feasibility of offering convertible notes or crypto-linked instruments tied to its Bitcoin investments.
