Bitcoin and Altcoin Premiums Surge Amidst Market Activity on May 21

Bitcoin’s price saw a slight dip, but experienced a notable premium in South Korea on May 21. The digital asset traded at 148.05 million KRW on Upbit, representing a 0.44% decline from the previous day. This was reflected in a 1.74% Kimchi Premium on the exchange. Meanwhile, Ethereum’s altcoin premium stood at 1.60%, with other prominent coins such as Solana (SOL), XRP (XRP), Dogecoin (DOGE) and Shiba Inu (SHIB) showcasing premiums ranging from 1.58% to 1.72%. It appears that a significant portion of these top altcoins are currently trading within the 1.5%-1.7% Kimchi Premium range.
