U.S. Banks Resist Reversing High Credit Card Rates Despite CFPB Defeat

Despite a court defeat of a Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) rule limiting late fees, major U.S. banks are maintaining elevated credit card rates and new fees. These changes were implemented to offset potential revenue losses from the now-invalidated regulation, even though consumer responses have been limited.
